Croatia is a jewell of the Med

The Adriatic is quite rightly considered the clearest of the seas in the Mediterranean area. It is no coincidence that in July and August the Italian marinas situated on that side begin to empty as everyone heads for the pure, translucent waters of Croatia.

Central Dalmatia — one of Croatia's regions — really does astound those yachtsmen used to the uniform shores of Turkey or the long expanses of Spain and Greece. There is a multitude of islands riven with unspoilt coves, harbours set in picturesque little towns, maddening in their unrivalled aroma of pine trees and the chirruping of cicadas. There is nothing to stop you dropping anchor in some quiet, picturesque, rocky inlet and staying there till morning, its only guests... Nor, when morning comes, to pick rosemary on the shore and set off for the next island.
